A cloud-based portal providing pharmacists a platform to centralize, normalize, view, and manage Pharmacy Formularies.

Design Process

Participated in research, analyzed data,and defined direction. Designed, tested, and iterated concepts, utilizing high-fidelity prototypes.

Goals

An adaptable and scalable platform.

I joined the team in this ongoing project to pick up where other designers had left.

The goal for my role was to consolidate the findings and refine direction according to users and business needs.The overall concept and design system were already in place.

One of the challenges was establishing trust and relationships with team members, as they were multiple previous designers involved in this project.

1 Efficiency Management of disparate BD anchor product formularies creates a large maintenance burden
2 Efficiency Difficult to manage new medication bar-codes and share across the enterprise
3 Standardization No easy way to standardize medications, their attributes, and workflows accross the enterprise

1 Implementation Implementation times of formularies for BD anchor products and infusion interoperability need to be shortened
2 Analytics No way to see medications across different PIS dictionaries
3 Analytics Benchingmarking against a competitor for drug-specific info nto possible

Design & Validation

Performing usability tests we validated the workflows and required fields. I refined the screen at each iteration.

Usability tests had the participation of users, designer, PO, SME, and other stakehholders.

 High-fidelity prototypes were important during usability tests to keep users focused on the task at hand.

Results

An intuitive and streamlined interface that allows pharmacists (users) to align sets of data among different healthcare systems.
